Why We Built Nomad Pads (and What It Actually Is)

The gap we kept running into

If you have lived or worked abroad in Mexico City, you already know the split. Need a place for a few nights? Airbnb is everywhere. Ready to commit for a year? Traditional landlords and brokers will talk to you—if you have a Mexican fiador, a póliza de arrendamiento, and the patience for a long lease.

What almost nobody offers cleanly is the middle: a furnished apartment for three to six months, with a real lease, international screening, and no guarantor theater. That is the gap Nomad Pads was built to fill.

What Nomad Pads is

Nomad Pads is a furnished short- and medium-term rental operator in Mexico City. We focus on areas that work for remote workers and expats—Roma Norte, La Condesa, and Polanco—and on stays that usually start at three to six months, with the option to extend.

You lease with Nomad Pads Operations SAPI de CV, a Mexican company. Property owners master-lease to us and furnish the units; we screen tenants, run operations, and act as the institutional counterparty. End tenants do not need a Mexican fiador or an arrendamiento póliza to qualify.

In plain terms: move-in-ready apartments, bilingual contracts, international credit and income checks, and lease lengths that match how people actually live and work in CDMX today.

Who it is for

Digital nomads and remote workers who outgrew hotel apps but are not ready for a 12-month local lease. Expats on tourist visas or early relocation who need a proper home base. Companies relocating people for a quarter or two. Owners who want a single reliable tenant instead of managing foreign short-stay traffic themselves.

If you need one weekend, book a hotel. If you want a year with a traditional landlord and you already have local paperwork, the open market may be fine. If you need months—not nights, not a full year—we built Nomad Pads for you.

What we are not

We are not a pure vacation-rental marketplace. We are not a furniture company that outfits units for owners. We are not a substitute for immigration advice. We are an operator: screening, leases, and furnished inventory on medium-term terms in CDMX.

That focus is intentional. The product only works if the lease length, the screening, and the neighborhoods stay clear. Everything on this site—listings, how it works, landlord model—points back to that one job.

What to do next

Browse available listings, read how screening and move-in work, or join the waitlist if you are planning a stay and inventory is still catching up. Owners can learn about the master-lease model and join the landlord waitlist separately.

Nomad Pads exists because the CDMX rental market left a hole between Airbnb and the 12-month lease. We are filling that hole—one furnished pad at a time.
